I wrote a column about summer dressing for the good people over at Artful Living. You can read it here. It deals with weddings, parties and all the celebrations that we aren’t going through at the moment. But the principles remain true. A dark linen sportcoat is your friend. There’s a difference between linen which is agreeably wrinkled and that which is oppressively creased. If you have an old seersucker jacket you’re shy about wearing then just toss it into the washing machine and wear it over a New Order shirt you overpaid for on Grailed.

It’s a difficult time to think about shopping. Or maybe you like to look at the favorite old sites as a form of escape. Or maybe you have a little money from a trip you are no longer taking. In any case, the good places are all having sales. 
That means my friends over at Drake’s. If you don’t know where to start then go for their shirts, which are terrific. Sid Mashburn is marked down and that’s good place for their twill trousers, sport shirts, not to mention tailoring, if you’re in a spendier mood. If you’re in New York and properly masked then head over to J. Mueser where Jake’s having a sale on most everything in his store. Consider the Campania jacket, which I’ve written about here before, or their fine new Western shirt. Rancourt is having a wild sale on their wonderful shoes, made in Maine (in the town where I went to college, no less). Their boat shoe and camp moc are great, but their Ranger Moc is as good as it gets. In general I’m dubious of retail therapy but these days we’ll take escape where we can get it.
