To read Naomi Fry’s work is to love her. Her byline means self-effacing comedy, pop culture insight, and a deep and curious knowledge of D-list celebrities. Her Twitter following is fervent, as are her readers at The New Yorker, where she’s a beloved contributor. Now she’s a regular guest on menswear podcasts, where she arrives like a conquering hero. I know only a fraction of her culture references, but still love to read whatever she writes. Thrilled to have her on The Watch List. Let’s bid, kids!

SIGNED - MARTIN PARR - 6" x 6" MAGNUM ARCHIVAL PRINT, $348

Every once in a while Magnum holds their flash sales, where you can buy a 6x6 print from one of their photographers for only a hundred dollars. I love Martin Parr and I missed this print when Magum offered it in 2018. It's gone up in value as you can see, so I just look at it longingly now. The colors are so great. Maybe at some point I'll pull the trigger.

1954 Ludwig Bemelmans Easter Egg art Milky Way candy bar vintage print ad, $37

Ludwig Bemelmans's illustrations for the "Madeline" books are some of my favorites. I certainly could not afford an original Bemelmans drawing but I like this 1954 Milky Way ad he made. The Easter eggs are really into accessorizing.

Whenever I buy surf or skate clothing it's really funny to me because I'm very very far from actually being able to harness any of these sporty skills in real life. In my mind's eye though I'm a hot California boy surfer, and these classic O.P. corduroy shorts would keep that delusion going.

Speaking of cosplay, I think it might be time to get a circa-'90s Chanel bag (when I have the money). What's key is the cross-body element, so I can wear it with a T-shirt and Vans. Even better if it's vintage and so a little bit scuffed.

DEBBIE REYNOLDS & DAUGHTER CARRIE FISHER - 8X10 PUBLICITY PHOTO, $8.98

Carrie Fisher (RIP) is everything to me, and this publicity photo of her as a cute, slightly awkward teen with her mom Debbie Reynolds, who was a real show-woman, is just great. I think this was taken at a point in which they were doing a stage show together, and they're both very early-'70s-miniskirt. I love generational Hollywood!

I feel extremely lucky because I have a couple of original Matt Groening drawings a friend had dedicated to me when I had my daughter. My love for "The Simpsons" however continues to know no bounds, and I wouldn't mind snagging this original sketch of Bart. He looks a little chagrined here which makes it better. It's Bart in existential-crisis mode.
